Enjoy a taste of Panama with these authentic corn empanadas. These are not your typical empanadas as they are kicked up using smoked ham and a creamy Panamanian cheese called cremoso. Each pack has 5 cheese empanadas. These empanadas are raw and need to be cooked. We are doing this so that you can get the freshest experience possible. To cook these empanadas we recommend frying them from frozen in oil preheated to 350F (180C). You will be frying them till they are crispy and the inside is hot. This generally takes 5-7 minutes from frozen. If you fry them thawed this generally takes 3-5 minutes.
You can bake these as well but we find the outer corn shell doesn’t get as crispy. To bake preheat your oven to 375F and place your empanadas on a greased surface or a non stick mat. Bake for 10 minutes or till the empanada has cooked through.
